Samsung's tablet line spans a wide gap. A Tab A takes 15–25W and is finished; a Tab S flagship takes 45W and needs PPS plus a 5A cable to get there. Buying the wrong end of that range is the difference between a two-hour and a four-hour charge on a battery far bigger than any phone's.

Tablet batteries are two to three times a phone's, so wattage translates directly into hours here in a way it does not on a handset. The same 25W adapter that fills a Galaxy S25 quickly will take most of an evening over a Tab S Ultra — and if the screen is on for a video call while it charges, longer still.

The flagship Tab S tier — the Plus and Ultra sizes in particular. Tab A models sit at 15–25W and gain nothing from a 45W adapter.
Do I need PPS for a Galaxy Tab?
For the S tier, yes — Super Fast Charging is built on it. A Tab A charges at its full modest rate on any decent PD adapter.
Can I use my Galaxy phone charger on the tablet?
Yes. A 25W PPS phone adapter charges any Tab safely; on a flagship it simply takes longer than the 45W unit would.
Why does the tablet charge so slowly while I use it?
Because the screen, radios and processor draw from the same budget as the battery. A large tablet display alone can consume 8–12W, which is a big share of a 25W adapter.
