Can I use a higher-wattage adapter than my device came with?
Yes. USB-C Power Delivery devices negotiate power: a phone plugged into a 100W adapter still draws only what it requests (about 20–27W). Higher wattage adds headroom and future-proofing, never risk. The reverse — too few watts — just charges slowly.
Is a more expensive power adapter worth it?
Pay for wattage, GaN size savings, extra ports, and certification (UL/ETL listing) — not brand markup. A $20 certified 30W GaN adapter outperforms a $35 legacy 20W brick in every measurable way.
What does GaN mean on a charger?
