Over-served: iPhone, iPad, AirPods. They negotiate their own rail and ignore the rest. There is no risk and no benefit — an iPhone draws the same 27W it would from a 30W brick.

Under-served: a 14″ MacBook Pro with a Pro or Max chip under sustained load, where 67W keeps the battery roughly level rather than filling it, and every 16″ MacBook Pro, which wants 140W. If you regularly export video or compile on the machine, buy up to 96W.

Does the Apple 67W adapter fast-charge a MacBook Air?

Yes. 67W is the minimum Apple specifies for fast charging on the M2 and later MacBook Air, and it reaches that threshold exactly. A 30W adapter charges the same machine at normal speed only.

Do I need an e-marked cable with the 67W adapter?

No. Its top rail is 20V at 3.35A, well inside the 3A a standard USB-C cable carries. E-marked 5A cables only become necessary above 60W of current-limited draw and above 100W under PD 3.1.

Is the 67W enough for a 14-inch MacBook Pro?

It is what base-configuration models ship with, so yes for normal work. Under sustained heavy load a Pro or Max chip can consume most of 67W, leaving little to refill the battery — 96W removes that ceiling.
