How we ranked these
Five criteria, the same on every list here and on the master roundup: delivered wattage under sustained load, not the shell number; protocol correctness — PD's 5V, 9V, 15V and 20V rails, PPS where claimed, PD 3.1 above 28V; safety certification, where a missing UL or ETL listing disqualifies; watts per dollar and per cubic inch; and track record — recalls, continuous-full-load behaviour. Sources are published specs and certification records, not star ratings or invented prices.
Speed is a property of the device, not the brick, so the primary sort is protocol correctness: does the adapter expose the profile that device needs to reach its ceiling — a PPS range for a Galaxy, PD 3.1 adjustable voltage for an iPhone 17, a 28V EPR rail for a 16-inch laptop. Wattage is only a tiebreaker: a 100W adapter with no PPS is slower on a Galaxy S Ultra than a 45W one that has it.

FAQ
What actually makes a charger fast?
Supplying the exact profile the device asks for: the right voltage rail, PPS where it uses PPS, PD 3.1 where it negotiates above 100W. A high wattage number with the wrong protocol still charges slowly.
Why is my fast charger charging slowly?
In order of likelihood: a cable rated below 5A; a multi-port adapter splitting its budget; the battery already above roughly 80%, where every device tapers; or a charger without the PPS profile the phone wants.
Does fast charging damage the battery?
Modern devices manage it themselves, tapering as the battery fills and throttling when cells get warm. Heat is the real ageing factor — charging on a hot surface or in a thick case does more harm than the adapter's rating.
Is one fast charger enough for a whole household?
A 65W PPS-capable three-port unit reaches the ceiling on most phones and tablets at once. Add a laptop and you want 100W, so the phone ports are not the ones throttled.
