Saudi Arabia has standardised on the British Type G plug, but the supply behind it is unusual — 220–230V at 60Hz, a combination almost nobody else runs, with legacy Type A/B and Type F sockets still in older buildings and some of those buildings still carrying a 127V supply. The socket shape does not tell you the voltage here.

Why 60Hz at 230V is irrelevant to your charger
A modern charger rectifies incoming AC to DC within the first centimetre of its circuit, then switches it at tens of kilohertz. Mains frequency is discarded almost immediately, which is why the label reads 100–240V ~ 50/60Hz as one combined range rather than as two products. Saudi Arabia's 60Hz is the frequency your device already sees at home; the 230V is the part that is different, and it is inside the same printed range. Nothing on your packing list cares. The only appliances that ever cared about frequency are synchronous motors and mains-timed clocks, which are rare in luggage.
The trap: a US-shaped socket is not a US voltage
Because Type A/B sockets survive in older buildings, you can encounter a socket your US plug fits directly — and it may be sitting on 220–230V rather than the 127V legacy supply or the 120V you assume. The shape of a socket is not evidence of what is behind it. This is the one place on a Gulf itinerary where "it fits, so it's fine" is genuinely dangerous for a single-voltage appliance.

Adapter or converter?
Adapter, for everything that charges a battery — phones, laptops, tablets, cameras, shavers, power banks. Converter only for single-voltage heating elements and motors: hair dryers, curling irons, kettles, steamers. What plug does Saudi Arabia use?
